A Local's Perspective

Life in Edgerton.

Edgerton grew as a tobacco market town and was once known as "Tobacco City U.S.A." It became a city in 1883. Most of the city is in Rock County, with a small part extending into Dane County.

Brick tobacco warehouses and Queen Anne houses on Washington Street recall that history. Lake Koshkonong, one of the largest lakes in Wisconsin, is a few minutes east, and I-39/90 runs just outside the city toward Madison and Janesville.

The district serves Edgerton and Lake Koshkonong (unincorporated, part), along with surrounding towns.
